As a DVA registered provider, Ambition Health Group delivers trusted veterans home care and nursing to eligible veterans, war widows and their dependents across Australia, helping them stay independent, comfortable, and well at home. From clinical nursing through your DVA card to practical help through the Veterans’ Home Care (VHC) program, we make veterans home care simple to access and built around you.

What Is DVA Homecare and Veterans Home Care?
DVA homecare helps eligible veterans stay well and independent at home, reducing avoidable hospital or residential-care admissions.
Through DVA community nursing, personal care, domestic support, respite, palliative care, rehabilitation and allied health, veterans receive practical, compassionate support that improves comfort, safety and wellbeing. Services may be short or long-term, following illness or injury.
Veterans can access a range of services, including community nursing care, personal care assistance, home support services such as cleaning and meal preparation, and respite care for family caregivers.
Additional services may include palliative care, rehabilitation support, and allied health services that help improve the quality of life and support independent living for those who have served Australia.
Which DVA Card Do You Hold?
Your DVA card determines which services we can provide and how they’re funded. There are three, and knowing which one applies to you is the first step to accessing your full entitlements.
- Gold Card: Repatriation Health Card (All Conditions)
The most comprehensive entitlement. Covers treatment for any health condition, whether or not it’s related to your service, including in-home nursing, personal care, allied health, mental health, palliative care and more, generally for veterans meeting service, age, disability or pension thresholds, and certain war widows and widowers.
- White Card: Repatriation Health Card (Specific Conditions)
Covers treatment for conditions the DVA has accepted as service-related. It also lets eligible veterans with warlike service access mental health treatment, in some cases before a condition is formally accepted.
- Orange Card: Repatriation Pharmaceutical Benefits Card
Covers subsidised medicines through the RPBS at reduced co-payments, for veterans and dependents who don’t qualify for a Gold or White Card but are entitled to pharmaceutical support.
You can hold more than one card, and your entitlements can change as your health needs change, so it’s worth reviewing them periodically.
NDIS Accommodation & Living Supports
We provide a range of NDIS-funded accommodation and living supports designed to give you the comfort, safety, and independence you deserve.
Supported Independent Living (SIL)
Our SIL services help you live more independently while receiving the day-to-day support you need. From daily tasks to personal care, we ensure you have the right balance of freedom and assistance in a supportive environment.
Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA)
If you need a temporary living arrangement while waiting for long-term housing or modifications, our MTA services give you a stable and supportive home for up to 90 days, ensuring continuity of care and peace of mind.
Short-Term Accommodation (STA)
Whether it’s for respite care, trying a new living arrangement, or short-term support, our STA services provide a safe and comfortable place for you to stay while your regular carers take a break or until you transition to longer-term living.

As one of Australia’s registered DVA approved providers, we deliver comprehensive DVA home care services and DVA nursing services tailored to the unique needs of veterans and their families.
Veterans’ Home Care (VHC) Program
Beyond card-based clinical services, the DVA’s Veterans’ Home Care program provides practical, everyday support, including domestic assistance, personal care, respite for carers, and safety-related home and garden maintenance, to help eligible veterans and war widows and widowers stay independent at home. A small co-contribution may apply for some VHC services. We can help you access VHC and coordinate it alongside any Gold or White Card services.

Many veterans are eligible for both DVA support and aged care funding. The same Ambition team can coordinate your DVA services alongside a Home Care Package or Support at Home, as one trusted provider for all of it.

Do I pay for DVA services?

How quickly can I access services?
Once approved, services can be arranged promptly depending on your care needs.
Can I hold more than one DVA card?
Yes. Some veterans hold, for example, a White Card for accepted conditions and an Orange Card for pharmaceutical benefits. The DVA issues the cards that match your circumstances.
What's the RPBS, and how is it different from the PBS?
The Repatriation Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (RPBS) is a separate scheme for eligible veterans. It covers everything on the standard PBS plus additional medicines, at reduced co-payments, making ongoing medications more affordable.
What if my DVA card application is rejected?
You have the right to request a review. A veterans’ advocate can help, and a well-supported review is often successful, so don’t treat an initial rejection as final.
