Registered TAC Provider: Complex Injury Rehabilitation and SSA Supported Accommodation

TAC attendant care, rehabilitation and SSA accommodation, all in one place

Severe transport accident injuries rarely have a one size fits all recovery. They need a provider who can move with the case, from acute hospital discharge to long term supported living. As a registered TAC provider Australia wide and an approved Shared Supported Accommodation (SSA) operator, Ambition Health Group is built for the complex end of TAC case loads, where standard in home care isn’t enough.

We work directly with TAC case managers, treating teams and families to design recovery pathways that work, whether that’s TAC Attendant Care at home, post hospital transition support, complex injury rehabilitation, or placement in a TAC approved SSA property. Our TAC home care services adapt as needs change. One provider, the full pathway, complex needs handled.

Managing TAC funding but living interstate? We support TAC participants wherever they live in Australia for in home services, so a move never means a gap in care.

What Is a TAC Provider?

TAC providers deliver the rehabilitation, attendant care, accommodation and personal support that help people injured in transport accidents recover and live well.

As an approved TAC provider and TAC service provider, Ambition is a TAC-approved service provider delivering across the full service spectrum, including TAC nursing services, from a few hours of attendant care a week through to specialised SSA placement for the most complex cases.

Who can make a TAC claim?

If you were injured (or lost a loved one) in an accident involving a car, motorcycle, bus, train or tram, you may be eligible. This includes drivers, passengers, motorcyclists, cyclists and pedestrians. The TAC confirms eligibility based on your claim.

TAC Services FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions: TAC Services

What is Shared Supported Accommodation (SSA) and who is it for?

SSA is a TAC-funded supported residential setting for clients with complex needs following a transport-accident injury, typically those who can’t return to their pre-accident accommodation and require 24/7 specialised support. SSA settings are group homes or residential facilities approved by the TAC, providing a home-like environment with on-site care.

Access is via the TAC, usually following a request from your treating team, support coordinator or family. The TAC commissions an assessment from an appropriate therapist or multidisciplinary team, then confirms SSA placement as part of your care plan. We work with the TAC and your treating team through the assessment and placement process.

We’re built for complex cases. Our SSA properties are enrolled with the TAC and Victorian Social Services Regulator, our on-site teams handle high-acuity clinical and behavioural needs, and the same Ambition team can transition residents to or from in-home attendant care without changing providers.

Anyone with a valid TAC claim from a transport accident involving a car, motorcycle, bus, train or tram, including drivers, passengers, riders, cyclists, pedestrians and public transport users. You’ll need an approved TAC claim to access funded services.

Attendant and personal care, medical treatment and rehabilitation therapies (physio, OT, speech, neuropsychology), mental health support, supported accommodation (including SSA), home modifications and mobility equipment, and transport to appointments.

No. TAC covers the cost of all approved services. Some supports, including SSA placement, need prior approval, and TAC confirms what’s included based on your assessment and circumstances.

It depends on your injuries and recovery needs, ranging from a few months of in-home attendant care through to ongoing SSA placement for catastrophic and lifelong-impact injuries. TAC reviews your condition periodically.
