Supported Independent Living (SIL)
Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA)
SDA is the specialised housing itself, purpose-built or modified “bricks and mortar” homes for participants with extreme functional impairment or very high support needs. SDA is long-term housing (not a short-term arrangement), built to defined design categories including Improved Liveability, Fully Accessible, Robust and High Physical Support. SIL support is then delivered within the SDA home.
Individualised Living Options (ILO)
ILO is our flexible, person-led alternative to traditional shared living. Instead of a fixed model, ILO is designed around how and with whom you want to live, whether that’s with a host family, a housemate, or a tailored mix of formal and informal supports. It begins with an Exploration & Design stage to map what good living looks like for you, then funds the ongoing supports to make it work. For participants who want genuine choice and control over their living arrangement, ILO is often the answer.
Medium-Term Accommodation (MTA)
MTA is transitional housing for up to 90 days, for when you’re ready to leave hospital or your current home but your long-term housing (such as an SDA build or modifications) isn’t ready yet. It bridges the gap so you’re not stuck.
Short-Term Accommodation (STA) & Respite
STA covers short stays, including respite, giving you a safe, supported place to stay while regular carers take a break, or while you trial a new living arrangement.
Frequently Asked Questions About Personal Care Services
What's the difference between a registered and non-registered NDIS provider?
Registered providers are independently audited against the NDIS Practice Standards and can support NDIA-managed, plan-managed and self-managed participants. Non-registered providers aren’t audited to those standards and can generally only work with plan-managed or self-managed participants. Ambition Health Group is fully registered as an NDIS disability service provider with High Intensity capability and nationwide reach.
Do you support participants with high-intensity or complex clinical needs?
Yes, it’s our specialty. Our team is trained against the NDIS High Intensity Support Skills Descriptors and supports ventilator care, tracheostomy, enteral (PEG) feeding, complex bowel care, complex wound management, seizure management and more.
What's the difference between SIL, SDA and ILO?
SIL is the support that helps you live independently (often in shared living). SDA is the specialised long-term housing itself. ILO is a flexible, person-led alternative that’s designed around how and with whom you want to live. We deliver all three.
Do you have SIL, SDA or ILO vacancies?
We maintain current availability and update it regularly. Contact us for live vacancy information, and support coordinators get a same-business-day response.
Can I receive NDIS services in a regional or remote area?
Yes. Starting as an NDIS provider Melbourne-based, our team has grown nationwide and now supports participants across Australia, including regional and remote areas, with flexible service options where needed.
Can I choose my own support worker?
Yes. The NDIS gives you full choice and control. We’ll match you with experienced support workers suited to your needs, and you stay in control of who supports you.
What happens if my support needs change?
You can request a plan reassessment at any time. We help you gather supporting documentation, prepare for your review, and request the right level of funding for your changed needs.
How quickly can support start?
For confirmed referrals we mobilise within days, and we hold immediate capacity for new and complex participants. Urgent hospital discharges can often start sooner.
