Starting 1 November 2025, the Support at Home program will replace both the Home Care Package Program and the Short-Term Restorative Care Program.
This new program, introduced under the Aged Care Act, is designed to put the needs and rights of older Australians first. It will deliver better access to care services, equipment, products, and home modifications, helping you stay independent, healthy, and socially connected for longer.

There are four different levels of Home Care Packages, each offering a different level of care, based on your needs and preferences. Level 1 – Basic Care Needs

- Daily support with personal care, mobility, and transfers
- Coordination of medical care and allied health services

Register with My Aged Care
To begin, you must register with My Aged Care, the government’s central portal for aged care services. You can do this by:

Get Assessed
After registering, you will be referred for an Aged Care Assessment Team (ACAT) assessment to determine your eligibility and level of care. This assessment typically includes:
